What is home sleep testing?
HST is a diagnostic polysomnography study which is self-administered by the patient in their home, it is used to diagnose sleep apnea in adults. The device measures and records breathing effort, heart rate, oxygen levels, nasal flow, and snoring.
Is the home sleep study accurate?
Yes, it is very accurate. The device we use has been approved and even over exceeded the normal requirements. Every test is scored by a Registered Sleep Technician and interpreted by a Board-Certified Sleep Physician.
Does this test Diagnose Central and obstructive sleep apnea?
Yes. Our equipment is able to capture the data needed to differentiate between the two.
Do I need a prescription for a home sleep study?
No Prescription is necessary for the home sleep testing but one would be recommended if you are seeking reimbursement from your insurance provider. We always recommend consulting with your Physician to review symptoms and determine need.
How long do I have to wear the device?
One night of testing is the normal for recording data needed. You would place it on at bedtime and remove in the morning when you get up.
Getting setup to receive the home sleep device?
Once you purchase the home sleep study online, you will be contacted by one of our team members to arrange a setup time and the device will be shipped directly to the location you provide.
How do I setup the device for the night?
We send detailed instructions on how to assemble and place the testing equipment on yourself. It is a 4-step process which can be done within one minute. We also send a brochure as well with the steps including pictures.
I need a sleep study for my CDL. Does this test meet CDL and DOT standards?
YES, this is an official diagnostic medical test recognized by the DOT.
Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance. We provide our services and products at a very competitive rate that often saves our customers time and money rather than going the lengthy and costly insurance route.
How much is shipping?
FREE, we never charge shipping. A prepaid package will be sent with the initial package to return to our facility.
What time should I go to bed?
Maintain your normal sleep routine, if you go to bed and watch tv for a hour that is no problem. We like to mirror your typical nights process for better results.
How long until I receive the results?
The results of your sleep study will be available within 4-5 days after we receive the equipment back. We will notify you or your Physician when the results arrive.
